Documentation Audit
$2,500 fixed. A written, prioritized plan, typically within one week.
Before you commit to a full project, find out exactly what's wrong and what to fix first. We review your existing documentation the way a new developer would, then give you a written, prioritized plan.
What you get:
- A review of up to 25,000 words of your documentation (getting-started guides, API reference, tutorials, and so on), in English, Japanese, or both. The word count is English and Japanese combined.
- A hands-on test of your quickstart and code samples: do they work when pasted into a terminal?
- A list of the problems most likely to cause support tickets and failed integrations, ranked by impact.
- If you have Japanese docs: a review by Hiromi De Young against the English source, covering technical accuracy, terminology consistency, and whether it reads as naturally written Japanese.
- Internationalization check, optional and at no extra cost: places where your docs or product will cause trouble in other languages (hard-coded text, formats, terminology).
- A prioritized fix plan you can hand to your own team or to us.
Price and timing:
- $2,500 fixed for up to 25,000 words, English and Japanese combined; $100 per additional 1,000 words.
- For example, a 40,000-word doc set is $2,500 + 15 × $100 = $4,000.
- If your docs are very large, you can instead choose a representative 25,000-word sample for the base price. Documentation problems tend to repeat, so a well-chosen sample reveals the patterns.
- Delivered typically within one week for up to 25,000 words. Larger audits scale accordingly (for example, about two weeks for 50,000 words), and we confirm the delivery date when you book.
- If you hire us for the fixes within 60 days, the full $2,500 is credited toward your project, so the audit effectively costs nothing.
