Terms & Conditions
The rules of the road, written so you can actually read them.
Last updated: September 14, 2026
These terms govern your use of inkwright.inc, the writing tools and apps we publish, and anything you buy from our shop. By using the site, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Writing, documentation, and localization work we do for clients is covered by a separate written agreement with each client. These terms cover the website and the products on it.
Your Account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Give us accurate information and keep it current, especially the email address we use to reach you.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for everything done through your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else has access to it.
- An account is for one person. Please don't share one or sign up on someone else's behalf.
Your Content
Everything you create with our tools — manuscripts, boards, worksheets, notes — is yours. We claim no ownership of it, and we don't read it, train anything on it, or use it for any purpose other than showing it back to you. You grant us only the limited permission we need to store it, back it up, and display it to you and to anyone you choose to share it with.
You're responsible for your content. Don't store anything you don't have the right to, and don't use the site to publish material that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes someone else's rights.
You can export your content at any time. If you delete it, or delete your account, it's gone from our systems once our backups roll over.
Subscriptions and Purchases
- Prices are shown at checkout, in the currency shown there, and include any tax we're required to collect. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Physical products ship to the address you give at checkout, on the terms shown there. Check the address carefully; we can't recover a parcel sent to the wrong place.
- If something we sold you doesn't work as described, contact us and we'll make it right, which may include a refund. We'd rather fix the problem than argue about it.
- We may change prices for future billing periods. If we do, we'll tell you before the change takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.
Acceptable Use
The site is small and run by real people. Please don't:
- Break the law, or help anyone else break it, using the site.
- Probe, scan, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site, its accounts, or its infrastructure.
- Scrape or bulk-download the site, or copy its design, code, or text for use elsewhere.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your relationship with Inkwright, Inc.
- Use the contact, support, or feedback forms to send spam or abuse.
Our Content
The site itself — its design, code, text, images, and the tools and apps we publish — belongs to Inkwright, Inc. and is protected by copyright and other laws. We're happy for you to link to any page and to quote briefly with attribution. Anything more needs our written permission. Portfolio and blog material carries its own credits where it isn't ours.
Changes and Availability
We're constantly improving the site and its tools, which means features change, and occasionally one is retired. Where a change would take something away from you, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your content first. We aim for the site to be available at all times, but like any web service it will sometimes be down for maintenance or reasons beyond our control.
Ending Things
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings or by asking us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents us. When an account closes, we delete its content within a reasonable period, keeping only the purchase records the tax authorities require us to retain.
Disclaimers and Liability
We work hard to make the site and its tools reliable, but we provide them as they are, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires. In particular, we don't promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, and our writing tools are aids to your judgment, not substitutes for it.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Inkwright, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Text Messages (SMS)
By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to text messages, you agree to receive recurring text messages from Inkwright, Inc. about your account (including sign-in and two-factor authentication codes), meetings and events you have scheduled or registered for, your orders, and replies to your support requests. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help.
For additional assistance, email support@inkwright.inc or use our contact form. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Participation in this program is subject to our Privacy Policy, these Terms & Conditions, and our SMS Messaging Policy.
Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. It is part of these terms.
Disputes and Governing Law
If something goes wrong, contact us first. Almost everything can be sorted out with an email. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Utah.
Changes to These Terms
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects your rights, we'll email you about it first. Continuing to use the site after a change takes effect means you accept it.
